Preparing for the Second Coming

Three things to watch for in the Second Coming

• You will hear of wars and rumors of wars
• There will be earthquakes in diverse places, and famines and troubles
• The sun will be dark, and the moon will not shine. The stars will fall, and powers in heaven will be shaken.

How to prepare for the Second Coming

We are required to stand in holy places at the last day. The meaning “stand in holy places” means to not only saying the things that the Lord teaches, but also to act as such. (D&C 87:8)

If we listen to the Lords warnings on what is to be expected at the second coming we will not be deceived by false prophets. (JST—Matthew 1:37)

If man was prepared for the thief to come at a certain hour, he would be on the lookout for the thief, and his house would not be robbed. Although we do not know when he will come, we should also be prepared for the second coming,

just like the man is prepared. (JST—Matthew 1:46-50)

Be prayerful, that you may be able to know what the signs are, and faithful to the Lord, so that we may be ready for the second coming. (D&C 33:17)

If we are familiar with the parable of the 10 virgins, we will be able to know what is expected of us. We should be like unto those that were wise, and have the Holy Ghost with us by being faithful and worthy. (D&C 45:56-57)
